Beynac-et-Cazenac · Périgord Noir
Le Pigeonnier
A dovecote clinging to the cliff of Beynac, now a hideaway for two, with the Dordogne valley at its feet.
A place like no other
The Dovecote Hideaway is a semi-troglodyte dwelling built against the cliff of Beynac. From afar you can spot its façade, pierced with the nesting holes of the dovecote, tucked under the rock high above the village and the river.
Perched high up, this unique and picturesque home offers a panoramic view over one of the most famous landscapes of the Dordogne. An ideal getaway for a couple exploring Beynac.

Inside the rock
Inside, the cliff itself forms one of the walls: bare rock, wood and metal give the place an atmosphere that is both rustic and elegant.
The 35 m² home is laid out over two levels. On the first, the living room, the kitchenette and a private shower room; on the second, the bedroom with its queen-size bed.
The kitchenette has a mini fridge, a hob and an oven.

The valley at your feet
From the dovecote, the eye sweeps over the rooftops of Beynac to the Dordogne, winding between meadows and wooded hills.
In the evening, simply settle by the window and enjoy the calm and the landscape.

An access to plan ahead
The dovecote is reached on foot from the car park, through the village lanes and then along a secure but narrow and steep path at the foot of the cliff. There are also steps inside: the home is not suitable for guests with reduced mobility.
Please take the time to study the access before you arrive. If you cannot carry your luggage through the lanes, a paid porter service can be booked in advance: we will then meet you at the car park.
